What's an RTA? (Residential Technology Advisor)
An RTA, or Residential Technology Advisor, is a student staff member trained to assist residents in connecting and using the residential technologies provided by the Department of Housing. Support is provided primarily through the ResNet office during business hours, but it also provided during the evenings and weekends by appointment.
RTA's are compensated through the Department of Housing, and work approximately 10 hours a week. The primary function of an RTA is to connect residents to the data network during the Fall move-in period. RTA's are also the primary contact for resolving technical difficulties experienced with telephone or cable TV service.
